Often I let my overwhelming to do list drive me to do a little bit of each thing and not really get anything done. I’m trying to turn a productive corner! I’d like to be more conscious of my time and not let the overwhelmed feeling slip in. Let’s be productive.
On that note, […]
One more preview and I’m off to the National Stationery Show! This is a page from my new catalog. Lots of pretty images and patterns. One of my favorite new designs this year, this one is called Rock. This is for telling the person you love most in the world how much they mean […]
One of the babies that I nannied for turned 1! I had made this pattern for her and for her birthday we made it into a pillow. I also took the card and DIY-ed it into a number one. It was actually fun […]
This is the makings of a new pattern. It has a tiny message. Let go and see what happens.
It came about because I really was not in the mood to draw. It was one of those days.. but I just started, and all of a sudden it started coming together and […]
I did this bunny pattern in early 2013 and I really haven’t done a series of patterns since. I have to set aside a lot of time because I get lost in making patterns and playing with color. I’m working on a new pattern series for 2014 and yes there will be […]
I’m getting things done: 1 2 3 today! Happy wireless Wednesday.
Unfortunately, my #1 is finding this DVD I borrowed from the library that jumped out of its case. Perhaps a kitten helped it escape.. They want $33 for it if I don’t find it! When was the last time you bought […]
I’ve been learning from others – especially my husband – that I should be more goal-oriented and less reactionary to what comes through my emailbox. So I’m doing some goal-setting this week, making a list and getting through it!
With a couple weeks left to the actual summer […]
Have a happy, relaxing Easter filled with family, good food and easter eggs.
This is a preview of one of my new patterns – Bunny Haven. Cards coming soon!
This pattern started with a flower and then bloomed into a bunch of different “flowers.” I have also just moved to Beacon, so we’re calling this one Beacon Bloom.
I’ve been creating lots of patterns lately and since most of them won’t appear as cards, I’ve decided to share them here. In […]
I took a Design Procedures class this fall at SVA (which has amazing continuing education courses by the way) and did this project. The assignment was to redo a New York Times Magazine layout. I picked an article about the Ocarina – which […]
New cards available in our Cynla Etsy shop! A land of ice cream where all your cares melt away, Happy Birthday in blues for all of your happy birthday blues, and some Japanese lanterns in red and blue for brightening someone’s day. The puns I know.. I think […]
Snorkeling is my new favorite hobby. It was amazing in Culebra, Puerto Rico — we saw every fish in the guidebook, tons of beautiful coral, a couple nurse sharks, sting rays, octopus, and we were very lucky to see tons of turtles. It must be nesting season because they were gathered around this one […]
Some designs that I worked on at the end of last year. They are all official cards now. I love making these, it’s so relaxing. I draw them in ink, scan them in and then color them on the computer. The coloring is the hardest part for me. I can never make up […]
I’m taking a licensing class and I have been working on some patterns. This one is Sakura branches I drew and colored. It includes 3 colorways: Pink, Purple and Beige [below]. The hardest part for me is knowing where to stop. I could probably come up with 20 different colors for this […]
A new Brooklyn design – for cards, prints, maybe a bedspread?
I’ve been working on this one for a while.. When I think of Brooklyn, the colors that come to mind are rusty reds and grays. This one looks great in a bigger size so I want to offer prints […]
New Valentine’s Day cards are almost here!
This is the first holiday I’m really prepared for in my business and I’m proud to offer EIGHT new designs this year!
I have patterns and hand lettered designs. My “tons” card is already a hot-seller. I like colors that aren’t really associated with […]
Initial sketches..
Finished cards..
I could probably live in an ice cream land.. so here are two cards – a Cupcake Land and an Ice cream land. They’re filled with color and pattern and delicious goodies. They look like little worlds dripping of goodness to me. Are there any […]
